Nickel slurping trees found in Borneo

Trees that contain some of the world’s highest concentrations of nickel have been found in Borneo’s Kinabulu Park.

Researchers from the University of Queensland identified dozens of new plant species at the World Heritage Site including strong nickel hyperaccumulators, trees that contain high concentrations of nickel.
