Patients trust docs, but consult internet

Patients don’t mistrust their doctors but look up their illnesses on the internet in order to be better informed and to play an active role in their own health care, a study has found.

Internet users are curious information seekers who are trying to learn as much as they can before they visit the GP.

Doctors don’t need to be defensive when their patients come to appointments armed with information taken from the internet.
