Pineapple study to help future development of crops

The world’s first pineapple DNA microarray may have important repercussions for the future development of other fruit and food crops, according to a new study from the University of Queensland.

The study’s results could be used to improve the nutritional and health benefits of crops to help alleviate the chances of diseases such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer.
