Associate Professor Chantal Ski is a psychologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Melbourne. Prior to this she held collaborative academic, clinical and government posts. With over a decade of experience in health services research, Chantal has contributed to policy documents for government bodies (e.g. Palliative Care Consultancy Teams and funding allocation recommendations) and worked with departments such as the Victorian Department of Human Services on research-related initiatives. Chantal’s work has extended across the majority of Victoria’s public and private hospitals.
As a psychologist she has extensive clinical and research experience in the psychosocial aspects of cardiovascular disease and in developing and validating patient-reported outcome measures. Chantal’s major interests lie in the development and evaluation of brief novel psychosocial interventions for patients and their carers. She also has expertise in evaluation of health service models of care for patients with cardiovascular disease inclusive of government consultation. Chantal has been awarded over $16M in competitive research funding and is widely published including a number of review papers examining non-pharmacological interventions in a range of cardiac populations in journals such as Nature Rev Cardiol, PLoS ONE, Eur J Cardiovasc Nurs, JBI Database of Systematic Reviews, and Heart Lung.
