I received my PhD in physics from Yale University in 2017, and I am presently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Colorado, Boulder. My research has focused on extending the reach of quantum technology to new physical systems.
During my PhD, I built a detector to search for a hypothetical particle called the axion that could explain the mysterious dark matter binding together galaxies. The main result of my PhD research was improving the performance of this detector to the limit imposed by the laws of quantum mechanics.
For my postdoctoral research I work on developing a key element of a future "quantum internet", based on quantum control of a vibrating membrane containing trillions of atoms.
