Brandyn White

I am a Doctoral Candidate in the Department of Biology at Howard University. My current focus is understanding the evolution of skin pigmentation in African Americans- particularly those of West African Ancestry. I desire to increase man's knowledge and understanding of skin pigmentation and skin disorders by including underrepresented communities within my studies. My research will contribute to the limited knowledge of skin color variation of those persons subject to the Atlantic slave trade, creating a more accurate representation of their (our) history.
