Program Officer for Women, Peace and Security, University of San Diego

Briana Mawby is the Program Officer for Women, Peace and Security and leads the Women PeaceMakers program and Women Waging Peace network. She comes to the Kroc Institute with a background in human rights, humanitarian, and security issues, with a focus on gender, climate change, and disaster risk reduction.

Briana worked previously as a Research Officer with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the Regional Office for Central America, North America and the Caribbean and served as a Hillary Rodham Clinton Research Fellow at the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security (GIWPS). She has also worked as a researcher with organizations such as the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the Overseas Development Institute (ODI), and the World Bank.

Briana received her MA in conflict resolution from Georgetown University and earned a Certificate in Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies from the Institute for the Study of International Migration. She earned a BA in international affairs from The George Washington University.
