Deborah Williams

PhD Candidate, Murdoch University

A former journalist and communications manager for the Federal Department of Health and Ageing, Deborah has been working in the university sector since 2013. She has taught units in social media, issues and crisis management, content creation and media law and ethics. As a researcher her interest areas are social justice, activism and the ethics of food, focusing on veganism and animal rights.
She completed her Honours project on the motivations of animal rights activists, and is completing a PhD on the efficacy of activists who engage in direct action to promote veganism and animal rights.
