Edmund S. Higgins

Affiliate Associate Professor of Psychiatry & Family Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina

After medical school, I completed residencies in Family Medicine and Psychiatry. I have been a practicing psychiatrist for 30 years. For the past 16 years my academic focus has been writing about the brain in a manner that is interesting, playful and easy to understand. I have written two textbooks, with Mark George: The Neuroscience of Clinical Psychiatry 3rd Ed, and Brain Stimulation Therapies for Clinicians 2nd Ed.
I have written three articles for Scientific American Mind: https://www.scientificamerican.com/author/edmund-s-higgins/
