Senior Lecturer in Education, King's College London

I am a Lecturer in Child & Family Health at King's College London. I first joined academia in 2010 with a lectureship at the University of Portsmouth, j having left a career in social care, where I specialised in Early Help practice. Having gained this coal face experience, I now apply theoretical and empirical research to practice, focused on children and families leading complex lives. Now a Doctor of Education and a Chartered Psychologist my current research interests include:

- Parenting teenagers misusing drugs
- Change and transformation in complex families (Family Stories Project)
- Researching with children and young people (from question to authorship)

As a senior fellow of Advance HE I have held a number of course leadership roles. My teaching is focused on children and families, safeguarding and psychology in practice settings. I take a strong interest in building our academic community, and in the well-being of our students.
