George Grispos

Dr. George Grispos is an Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity in the College of Information Science and Technology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO).

He received his Ph.D. in Computing Science from the University of Glasgow, Scotland in 2016. His doctoral research investigated efforts to improve the quality of data generated during security incident response, with the aim of allowing organizations to use this data to develop deeper insights into the causes of security incidents. Prior to joining UNO, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Lero - The Irish Software Research Centre, based at the University of Limerick in the Republic of Ireland. Dr. Grispos has also completed a MSc. in Computer Forensics and E-Discovery from the University of Glasgow, and a BSc. (Hons.) in Computer Networks from Middlesex University, England.

Dr. Grispos has a broad and interdisciplinary research focus on digital forensics and cybersecurity, where he aims to understand how data can be acquired from contemporary digital devices for both malicious/cyber offensive (e.g., criminal/malicious exploitation) and legitimate defensive (e.g., digital forensics/security incident response) purposes. He is also interested in investigating how this data can be used to design and develop a variety of cyber defensive solutions, from both a technical and non-technical perspective. Dr. Grispos has experience in conducting research with Fortune 500 Organizations in the financial services and manufacturing sectors, as well as law enforcement agencies.
