Professor, Leadership and School Transformation, School of Education, University of Newcastle, University of Newcastle

Over the past 40 years I have worked to transform classroom learning, teaching and assessment. I am part of leading change in school/university structures and board policies around an equity-driven goal of enabling success for all our citizens in this collaborative, global innovation age. In the interconnected world our common work in higher education should be to advance research and teaching that assists our students, partners and society to promote improving the human condition and advancing the common good.
I am currently Professor of Leadership and School Transformation in the School of Education at the University of Newcastle. I am the former Pro Vice-Chancellor of the College of Human and Social Futures and the former Dean/Head of School of Education. I have been a Dean, Department Head, Doctoral Program Coordinator, Assistant Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence and Lecturer/Researcher in the US prior to coming to Newcastle in 2013.
