Professor Julio Licinio, M.D., Director, John Curtin School of Medical Research, The Australian National University in Canberra, where he is also Head, Department of Translational Medicine. From 2006-2009, Dr. Licinio was Miller Professor of Psychiatry and Medicine/Endocrinology, Chairman of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and subsequently Associate Dean for Project Development (Translational Science) at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He was previously Director of the University of California, Los Angeles, Center for Pharmacogenomics and the founder of the UCLA Graduate Training Program in Translational Investigation as well as Vice-Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry. His work on the fundamental endocrine and pharmacogenomic mechanisms at the interface of obesity and depression has been extensively replicated and cited in the scientific literature. He is the editor of three Nature Publishing Group journals: The Pharmacogenomics Journal, Translational Psychiatry and Molecular Psychiatry, which has an Impact Factor of 15, the highest in its field worldwide.
