Martin Loosemore

Professor of Construction Management, University of Technology Sydney

Martin Loosemore is Professor of Construction Management at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia. He is a Visiting Professor at The University of Loughborough, UK and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building. Martin was formerly Professor of Construction Management at UNSW.

Martin has received 9 Australian Research Council (ARC) grants and generated over $11 million of competitive research income in the last 10 years. He is currently Chief Investigator on 4 ARC Linkage Grants and has held ARC grants continuously for the last 17 years. His research has focused in the areas of innovation, social value, social procurement, social enterprise, risk management, human resource management, gender diversity and equity, cultural diversity and corporate social responsibility. His current work and practice focusses on how the construction and infrastructure sectors can contribute more positively to the communities in which they build.

Martin has published 13 books and over 250 internationally refereed articles in leading international journals and conferences. His is a partner in a successful social business which specialises in providing new employment pathways into construction for people suffering disadvantage. His work has received numerous international awards and he serves on many international advisory committees and editorial boards.
