Director, Centre for Co-operative Studies (on research sabbatical leave), University College Cork

Dr. Olive McCarthy is a senior lecturer and a researcher with the Centre for Co-operative Studies and the Cork University Business School, University College Cork. Her research and teaching interests span co-operatives of all types, with a particular interest in agri-food, credit unions, and related issues, on which she has published widely. She is director of the online MSc in Co-operative and Social Enterprise and co-director of the MSc in Co-operatives, Agri-Food and Sustainable Development. She was appointed in 2018 by the current Irish Minister for Finance to the statutory Credit Union Advisory Committee (CUAC) which advises him on credit union policy and legislation.
