After completing my PhD at the University of Melbourne, I spent 10 years overseas at the Smithsonian Institution and in Canada at the Toronto Zoo. While at the Smithsonian, I managed two international programs aimed at better understanding reproduction and conservation of giant pandas and jaguars. I joined the team at Taronga Conservation Society in 2007 and was fortunate to work with many passionate and brilliant research staff across the disciplines of behaviour, reproduction, wildlife health, nutrition, marine science and ecology. We refocused Taronga's research and conservation work to better understand species requirements, tolerance to environmental change and roles within the ecosystem informing our conservation action. I am now the Executive Manager for Science and Conservation for Bush Heritage Australia and extremely proud of the work that our staff around the country achieve on a daily basis, mitigating the threats to our natural world, protecting wildlife and their habitats.
