Post-Doctoral Fellow, University of Zululand

Dr. Stella C Sabi holds a PhD in Food Security from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. She investigated the food security interventions at the institution, evaluated the Food Security Programme and developed a framework for sustainable institutional responses to the problem of food insecurity.

She presented her research findings at several local and international platforms including the first SA Higher Education Colloquium on Food Insecurity at Universities, The “9th Annual Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Conference”, and the “2016 New York City International Academic Conference on Education & Social Sciences”. With a background in Policy and Development studies, Dr Sabi, has authored some peer reviewed journals and book chapters on food security, land policy, and HIV/AIDS policy advocacy.

Dr. Stella C Sabi joined the University of Zululand in 2019 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Faculty of Science and Agriculture. She is currently involved in Action-oriented research, in the area of food security under the Department of Consumer Sciences, University of Zululand. She is a member of thePlatform for African – European Partnership in Agricultural Research for Development Phase II (PAEPARD II), the South African Monitoring and Evaluation Association (SAMEA) and the South African Association of Family Ecology and Consumer Sciences (SAAFECS). Her research interest in Food Security, Policy Analysis, Monitoring and Evaluation, Community Engagement.
