Professor of Political Science and Public Administration, Kutztown University of Pennsylvania

Dr. Lem received his Ph.D. from Binghamton University in political science in 2008 and joined the faculty at Kutztown University that year. Prior to arriving at KU, Dr. Lem held visiting positions at Hobart & William Smith Colleges and Kent State University.

At KU, Dr. Lem primarily teaches the research methods courses for political science, public administration and Masters of Public Administration students. He is actively involved in university leadership and has partnered with community organizations to bring events to campus.

Off campus, Dr. Lem serves as the treasurer of the Pennsylvania Political Science Association. His primary research agenda focuses on political parties in Western democracies with a particular emphasis on third parties in the United States. He has also examined the implementation of post-conflict justice mechanisms following civil wars.
