Terrell Thompson

Life Sciences Coordinator - Export Barbados, University of Auckland, Waipapa Taumata Rau

Dr. Terrell Thompson is the Life Sciences Coordinator at Export Barbados (formerly the Barbados Investment & Development Corporation), an agency of the Government of Barbados. He is responsible for the development of two Life Science Parks with a focus on biogas and green hydrogen technologies. He also facilitates the BLOOM CleanTech cluster which engages small/medium-sized enterprises and international stakeholders on green business development and entrepreneurship, thereby promoting economic productivity, environmental sustainability and international marketability. Terrell is the Technical Advisor of Sargassum biochemistry to Rum & Sargassum Inc., a Barbadian Company that converts Sargassum seaweed and rum distillery waste to biomethane for utilization as an alternative transportation fuel. Terrell has published several articles in internationally notable and very influential journals on Sargassum influx, remediation and value-added resource recovery.
