Tshepo Gwatiwa, PhD

Lecturer, Department of Security Studies and Criminology, Macquarie University

Tshepo is Lecturer in Intelligence Studies, in the Department of Security Studies and Criminology, at Macquarie University (in Sydney, Australia). Prior to this, he was a lecturer in the Department of International Relations at the University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg, South Africa) and the University of Botswana, as well as adjunct lecturer at the Botswana Defence Force's Defence Command and Staff College (BDF DCSC). His research interests include intelligence studies, violent extremism and cyberterrorism, foreign military actors in Africa, African agency in international politics, particularly the AU's international partnerships with the West and East.
