Quantum system teleports an atom

For the first time, physicists have successfully transported an atom from one location to another inside an electronic chip.

According to the research from the University of Queensland, the “teleportation” process involves quantum information being transmitted between locations without sending a physical carrier of information.

The findings may have applications for secure communications and could lead to the development of larger electronic networks and more functional electronic chips.
