Researchers create magnetic replicas of pollen

Researchers have created magnetic imitations of sunflower pollen grains.

Scientists at The Georgia Institute of Technology used a wet chemical, layer-by-layer technique to apply high conformal iron oxide coatings to sunflower pollen grains. The replicas have natural adhesion from the spiky pollen particles that have been enhanced with magnetic surface layer.

The researchers said that scientists will be able to expand the characteristics of pollen replication in the future.
