Robots with most humanlike face preferred

Researchers have found that a robot’s appearance affects people’s perception of how sociable and friendly it is.

The one with the most humanlike screen display face was the most preferred, while those less humanlike were deemed to be “eerie”.

With ‘socially assistive’ robots being developed as helpers for the elderly, robot designers need to know how to make people feel comfortable interacting with them.
