Sciatica pain: epidural injections not the answer

Epidural corticosteroid injections offer little benefit to sciatica sufferers, a study has found.

Sciatica is lower back or leg pain, often severe, which may radiate down the leg and cause tingling or numbness.

A review of published studies has shown pain relief from the invasive injections is minimal and only short-term.

Epidural corticosteroid injections are increasingly used to treat sciatica due to the inadequacy of non-surgical options.
