Services key to manufacturing futures

Manufacturing businesses that incorporate technology services with their existing products can help drive market growth, researchers at Aston University have found.

The 12-month study discovered that the 30% manufacturers already doing this are growing by 5 to 10 per cent a year.

The researchers hope their findings will lead to a wider adoption of ‘servitization’ and an end to the distinction between manufacturing and services as separate sectors.
