South Pacific rising dramatically

Sea levels in the South West Pacific have risen up to 20cm since the late 19th century.

Dr Patrick Moss from The University of Queensland has analysed sediment cores from Tasmania’s salt marshes to reconstruct limited records of past sea levels.

The study advances understandings of climate change and sea levels, with implications for where we build cities and infrastructure.
