Trends in house fire fatalities

More than 400 people in Australia’s eastern states have died due to house fires in the last five years.

Research lead by Victoria University analysed data from Australian coronial files to determine the factors that contributed to house-fire fatalities.

The study revealed heavy drinking and smoking were both common trends in the evidence.
