Violence in veterans not always combat related

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and combat exposure are not the primary instigators of violence in war veterans.

The University of North Carolina’s Eric B. Elbogen found that alcohol abuse, work, social and financial circumstances are more likely to trigger violence in former soldiers.
