You don’t need to smoke to get hooked on nicotine

Exposure to second-hand smoke can create symptoms of nicotine dependence in non-smoking pre-teens, according to a study from Concordia University and the Université de Montréal.

The study also found that young children who repeatedly observe a parent, sibling, friend or neighbour consuming cigarettes are more likely to light up themselves as adolescents.
