Senior Lecturer in Economic History, University of Manchester

Aashish is a historian of economic life, interested in economic institutions, political economy, and the cultural foundations of economic practices. He is the author of 'Markets and Measurements in Nineteenth-Century Britain' (Cambridge University Press, 2012) and has published a range of essays on histories of measurements, standards, and economic nationalism in Britain and India. He has been teaching history at the University of Manchester since 2012 after completing a PhD at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
