Abigail A. Dumes

Assistant Professor in the Department of Women's and Gender Studies, University of Michigan

I'm a medical and cultural anthropologist, and my research explores gender, contested illness, infectious disease, environmental risk, and medical/scientific controversy in the United States. My first book, Divided Bodies: Lyme Disease, Contested Illness, and Evidence-Based Medicine, was published with Duke University Press in September 2020.
