Dr Alan Ralph
Speciality: all things teen-related (think vaping, exams, etc) but also comments on broad parenting topics also
Location/availability: Advancetown (near Hinze Dam), sometimes UQ. Alan makes himself available for media opportunities.

Alan Ralph is the Triple P Head Trainer and Adjunct Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Parenting and Family Support Centre (PFSC), University of Queensland. Over the past 25 years, Alan has held clinical positions at three Australian Universities, conducted research in the area of adolescent and family problems, and written numerous articles and chapters on related topics for scientific journals and publications. As part of this role, he has developed programs to assist teenagers and their parents to manage problems commonly encountered during the transition into adolescence and adulthood and trained many psychologists and other practitioners to implement these programs.
He is co-author of the Teen Triple P program for parents of teenagers with Matt Sanders, founder of the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program. He makes regular national and international conference presentations and has written numerous book chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals. In addition, he has developed training and practitioner manuals, parent tip-sheets and produced videos.
Alan is also regularly invited to provide expert comment to the media.
As Head of Training at Triple P International (TPI) - which disseminates the Triple P Positive Parenting Program worldwide – Alan’s main role is to monitor and supervise the activities of over 120 Triple P
trainers who provide training and accreditation for practitioners engaged to deliver the Triple P to parents in Australia and around the world.
Alan’s qualifications consist of a Doctor of Philosophy from Murdoch University, and he is registered with the Psychologists Board of Australia as a psychologist, endorsed in the area of clinical psychology. He is a past Chair of the College of Clinical Psychologists, a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society, a Member of the British Psychological Society, and chartered as a clinical psychologist in the United Kingdom.
