Assistant Professor, Pediatrics, University of Saskatchewan

I am a general pediatrician in Saskatoon, SK, Canada practicing both inpatient and outpatient pediatrics at the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital. I completed medical school at the University of Calgary in 2004, and my residency in general pediatrics at the University of Saskatchewan in 2008.

My passions at work include medical education, patient safety, advocacy, and eating disorders. I provide medical care for pediatric patients with eating disorders, whether that be inpatient or outpatient, and am the physician lead for our pediatric eating disorders clinic. This is an inter-disciplinary clinic where patients are seen with their dietician, counsellor, and pediatrician together throughout their treatment. I have spoken locally, provincially, and nationally about aspects of eating disorder care with a goal to increase awareness, and ensure patients get the treatment they need as quickly as possible.

I am involved in medical education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and teach students from all disciplines about eating disorders, pediatrics, patient safety, teamwork, and advocacy. The COVID-19 pandemic has helped me find my voice as an advocate for children and for all of us.

Outside of medicine, I love to bake, read, spend time outdoors, and be with my family!
