Principal Research Fellow, UCL

I am Principal Research Fellow in the Centre for Teachers and Teaching Research at IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education and Society in London, UK. My research interests centre on social justice in education and how education can be made more equitable.

My work on attainment grouping in schools explores the impact of setting (tracking by subject) and mixed attainment grouping on pupils' attainment and self confidence, and classroom practices and student experiences in grouped and ungrouped classrooms. Other areas of research include professional development of early career teachers, and how teachers address extremist views in their classrooms.

I am a Chartered Psychologist, accredited by the British Psychological Society. Previously I was a secondary school teacher in England for 11 years.
