Boniface Ushie works in the Population Dynamics and Reproductive Health Unit, leading projects on sexual health and rights issues such as unsafe abortion and, sexual orientation and gender identity. His work involves evidence generation through primary research and program evaluation in family planning and sexual and reproductive health and rights. He has substantial experience in research design, planning, implementation, and evaluation of health-related projects across many countries in Africa. Boniface holds a PhD and an MSc in Medical Sociology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria where he was also a lecturer for nearly four years. Before joining APHRC, Boniface was the Director of Research at the British Council, Nigeria. He is an alumnus of the African Doctoral Dissertation Research Fellowship (ADDRF) and an awardee of the Dan David Prize Scholarship for Young Researchers in Global Public Health. Boniface is driven by the desire to be one of the strong evidence-informed African voices shaping the future of Africa.
