Dr. Bonny Norton, FRSC, is a Professor and Distinguished University Scholar in the Department of Language and Literacy Education at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Her research addresses identity and language learning, multilingual literacy, and international development. Committed to open technology and language education, she is the project lead of the Global Storybooks project and the Storybooks Canada project. She is also research advisor of the African Storybook initiative and the Indigenous Storybooks project. Dr. Norton is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and the American Educational Research Association. Her work has been translated into Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese.
