Professor & Executive Dean, Faculty of Health, Deakin University

Brendan Crotty is Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health at Deakin University. He was appointed Foundation Head of the Deakin School of Medicine in October 2006. In this role he was responsible for the development, accreditation and delivery of the Deakin medical course, which is designed to equip graduates with the skills needed to practise in rural and regional Australia.

He is a member of the Executive of Medical Deans of Australia and New Zealand.
Professor Crotty has extensive experience in postgraduate medical education.

He is Chair of the Board of the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria, the body responsible for training programs for all first and second year medical graduates working in Victoria. He has previously been Chair of the Confederation of Postgraduate Medical Education Councils, the peak body for early postgraduate medical training in Australia and New Zealand. He held a number of senior educational roles in the Royal Australasian College of Physicians prior to commencing at Deakin.
