Catherine Bishop

Postdoctoral Fellow, Macquarie University

I am a DECRA postdoctoral fellow at Macquarie University, researching 'Gendered Enterprise: Australian businesswomen since 1880'. I have published widely in academic journals and have written three books. My most recent book is 'Too Much Cabbage and Jesus Christ: Australia’s ‘Mission Girl’ Annie Lock' (2021). My first book, 'Minding Her Own Business: Colonial Businesswomen in New South Wales' (2015) won the Ashurst Business Literature Prize. I am also the the co-editor, with Jennifer Aston, of 'Female Entrepreneurs in the Long Nineteenth Century: A Global Perspective' (2020).
