I am a specialist in post-1945 U.S. history with particular interests in gender, sexuality, politics, and metropolitan development. Much of my research focuses on the San Francisco Bay Area. My book, The Closet and the Cul-de-Sac: The Politics of Sexual Privacy in Northern California, will be published in March 2019.
