PhD Candidate, Mathematics Education, Faculty of Education, York University, Canada

Phd candidate studying mathematics education. My research investigates the experiences of adult caregivers of middle school students doing mathematics at home with their child (e.g., through homework, shopping, splitting quantitates of items between family members). My masters thesis focused on mathematics anxiety in gifted students, specifically looking at causes, solutions, and the impact mathematics anxiety can have on learning.

As a teacher, I am very lucky to teach mathematics to middle school students. I ground my teaching practice in research as a way to best serve the community I work with. Equally, I learn a lot from listening to the different ways kids think about mathematics, and how they experience learning mathematics. I am grateful to my students for the ways they have helped me become a better teacher and researcher.
