David Ottaway

Assoc Prof David Ottaway is a Theme Leader for the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS). David’s research is focussed on the development of optical systems ranging from cryogenic solid state lasers to mid-infrared fibre lasers.

He has an ongoing involvement in the LIGO Scientific Collaboration and continues to work on advanced gravitational wave detectors.

David has published more than 185 refereed journal papers and his research has attracted significant funding totalling $7.4-million.
