Senior climatologist, Australian Bureau of Meteorology, Australian Bureau of Meteorology

Felicity is a senior climatologist at the Bureau of Meteorology. She studied for a Bachelor of Science (UNSW), majoring in oceanography, while attending the Australian Defence Force Academy in 1995-1997. She completed her Graduate Diploma in Meteorology at the Bureau of Meteorology in 2001 and moved to the Bureau's climate section after several years working as an aviation forecaster. Felicity spent a year working as a climate consultant with the Tamworth Agricultural Institute in 2005, getting an insight into the effect of climate variability on grain crop production, and more generally how climate outlooks and knowledge of local climate can assist both the agricultural industry and local communities. She now puts this insight into practice, working in seasonal prediction at the Bureau of Meteorology, with a particular focus on effective communication of climate information for the Bureau's broad range of users.
