Dr Koorts is a Senior Research Fellow / Implementation Scientist in the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN). Dr Koorts’ research focuses on the implementation and scale-up of physical activity and sedentary behaviour interventions at a population level.

She is currently a Chief Investigator on an NHMRC Partnership Project Grant to evaluate the implementation and scalability of the school-based Transform-Us! initiative across Victoria, and is the Principal Investigator on a study investigating the mechanisms underpinning successfully ‘scaled up’ physical activity and nutrition interventions in Australia.

Dr Koorts has held multiple academic and practice-based roles requiring the use of her skills in program implementation, practice-based evaluation and evidence translation to inform the commissioning of health promotion programs and delivery of clinical health services. She is also the co-founder and co-chair of the International Society for Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (ISBNPA) special interest group 'Implementation and Scalability'.
