Hylton Hollander

Senior Lecturer, Stellenbosch University

After completing my PhD in economics in 2014, I received a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Cape Town before being permanently employed at Stellenbosch University from 2016. My research centers on the link between financial factors and economic fluctuations, and their related monetary, fiscal, and macroprudential policy prescriptions in both developed and emerging economies. In 2020, I became a National Research Foundation Rated Researcher (NRF Y1 rating). I teach macroeconomics, monetary economics, and international finance at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. My academic activities are strongly geared toward graduate skills development and public policy.
