Associate Professor and Ann Brown Chair in Organization Studies, York University, Canada

I am an Associate Professor and Ann Brown Chair in Organization Studies at the Schulich School of Business at York University. Previously I served as Canada Research Chair (Tier II) in Organizational Leadership and Associate Professor in the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University; and I was a Research Fellow with the Women and Public Policy Program at Harvard Kennedy School (2019-2020). My passion is my research! I examine issues surrounding workplace diversity, inclusion, and equality including gender, cultural, language and socio-economic status diversity. My research has been published in top-tier refereed journals (e.g., Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology); has received numerous awards (e.g., Responsible Research in Management Award); and has been featured in main media outlets (e.g., Harvard Business Review, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times).

My research is funded by Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) and the Ontario Early Researcher Award. I was a visiting faculty at the University of Western Australia Business School in 2020, the University of Amsterdam in 2018, Católica Lisbon (Portugal) in 2016, and RMIT University in Melbourne in 2014. I have served on numerous editorial boards (e.g., Administrative Science Quarterly), and I am currently serving as an Associate Editor at the Academy of Management Journal.

I am also an enthusiastic teacher and I like inspiring my students. I have taught courses at undergraduate and graduate level in the area of organizational behaviour. I supervise a lab consisting of highly motivated and intellectually curious undergraduate and graduate students. I also engage in public speaking events at companies and communities and always welcome new collaborators, partnerships, and students! Finally, I am a proud mom of two young kids!
