James' focus of research is on compassion. Research areas include: a) examining compassion focused therapy b) measuring compassion b) examining compassion with children c) what fears, blocks, & resistances people have towards compassion d) developing and evaluating compassion interventions. James is a clinical psychologist and also holds an Visiting Fellowship at the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education at Stanford University.
