Professor of Biological Sciences, Flinders University

Jianguang obtained Bachelor at Dalian Fisheries College, China in 1982, Masters at University of Oklahoma in 1988 and PhD at Ohio State University in 1994. After a 3-year postdoc at the University of Hawaii, he joined Flinders University in 1997. Jian is a pioneer of the aquaculture program at Flinders and has led the aquaculture research to the world class in the area of Fishery Sciences. Supervised 18 PhD students and 20+ Honours to completion, and published 2 books, 12 book chapters, 220+ journal papers. Research areas cover food, feeding and nutrition of aquatic animals in an attempt to discover trophic relationships in food web and apply new findings to applied science. Research disciplines include ecology, physiology, behaviour, biotechnology, and toxicology. Research organisms include bacteria, algae, zooplankton, fish, oyster, abalone and freshwater crayfish
