Full Professor, University of Florida

Joyce Bono is the Walter J. Matherly Professor of Management at the Warrington College of Business Administration, University of Florida. She also serves as the Director of the University of Florida Leadership Lab, an organizational research laboratory that partners with businesses to offer evidence-based leadership development and to advance our understanding of what makes great leaders effective. Dr. Bono earned her Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the University of Iowa, an M.S. in Administration from the University of Notre Dame, and a B.A. in Human Resources from Spring Arbor College.

Her research interests include leadership, personality, motivation, job attitudes, the advancement of women leaders, and the effects of positive events, resources, and relationships on employees and their productivity and flourishing at work, and at home.

Her work has been published in a variety of top management, leadership, and organizational psychology journals, has been the recipient of several awards and has been featured in media outlets including the Wall Street Journal, Huff Post, “O” magazine, the Harvard Business Review’s daily stat and Daniel Pink’s “10 articles worth reading.”
