Karen Mornin, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from the University of British Columbia and a professional practicum in Nutrition from St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto.

Karen works as a clinical Dietitian in the Healthy Heart Program at St. Paul's Hospital. She recently, along with her colleagues, completed a Mediterranean Diet Study after be awarded the Providence Health Care Practice-based Research Challenge funding.
She is now embarking on a new research project for the Portfolio diet. Karen also trains and evaluates dietetic interns in the area of nutrition counseling for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. She has worked at St. Paul’s hospital for over 16 years.

Karen is a co-author for the dietary intervention for the treatment of obesity in adults: 2006 Canadian clinical practice guidelines on the management and prevention of obesity in adults and children published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal.

She is a member in good standing with both the Dietitians of Canada and the BC College of Dietitians.
