Dr Katherine Downing is an Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Deakin University’s Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN). Her research focuses on physical activity and sedentary behaviour in early childhood (birth through 5 years). In particular, she is interested in the measurement, patterns, and health and developmental outcomes of these behaviours. Katherine is also interested in how we can best educate and support parents to increase their children's physical activity and reduce their sedentary behaviour.
